Perinatal Palliative Care

What is Perinatal Palliative Care?

Perinatal palliative care is supportive care for families when a baby has been diagnosed with a serious illness antenatally.

Who we are

We are a team of health care providers who support babies with serious illness and their families. We work with your existing health care providers to enhance the care your baby is already receiving to make sure it reflects the values and preferences of your family, and to maximize quality of life and comfort for your baby.

Should end-of-life care be needed, we will be there to ensure your baby’s comfort, provide your family with support in your preferred setting, and help create meaningful legacies/memories.

Who we help

We support families when a diagnosis of a serious illness or life-threatening condition is made during pregnancy and families need to make decisions about the care of their baby. We provide support in hospital and in the community.

Location

We are located at the Credit Valley Hospital and see families across all Trillium Health Partners sites, as well as in the community.

Referrals

Referrals can be made by any member of your health care team by calling (905) 813-1100 ext. 816573 or emailing pact@thp.ca
