The Trillium Health Partners (THP) high school co-operative education program is an experiential learning program in partnership with specific school boards. Each September and February, THP places eligible high school students in co-op placements in a variety of department across 3 hospital sites and at some of THP's remote locations.
Students interested in this program must consult their co-op teacher, guidance department or the Co-op Coordinator in their school/school board to confirm their school board has a partnership with THP. Any questions related to the Co-op program MUST BE DIRECTED to your school and not THP.
- Intake for HS co-op at THP is twice a year, and placements are from September to January and from February to June
- Applications are received by the THP HS Co-op Coordinator in Volunteer Resources
- THP cannot accept applications directly from co-op students, individual schools, co-op teachers or from school boards that don’t have a partnership with THP
- Applications are provided to partnering school boards twice/year, typically in April and October
- Eligible HS co-op students apply in their schools using the THP application form
- An application to THP does not guarantee an interview or a co-op placement as there are far more applications received than there are co-op placements
- To be eligible for a HS co-op placement with THP, successful co-op applicants must complete the THP health clearance form with their doctor within a specified timeframe; health clearance includes getting a 2-step TB test as well as getting blood work and/or immunizations for Mumps, Measles, Rubella and Varicella and Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis as these are required to work in a hospital / healthcare environment; Please note, THP is unable to reimburse any costs or expenses incurred associated with completing the health clearance requirements
