Shared access lets you give someone you trust permission to access your MyChart account and help manage your care.
The person you choose is sometimes called a proxy. This may be a parent, legal guardian, adult child, caregiver, substitute decision-maker, or another trusted person.
Why Would I Share Access to My MyChart Account?
Sometimes, you may want help keeping track of your health information or managing your care.
With shared access, a trusted person can help you:
- View appointments
- Review visit summaries and test results
- Access health information in MyChart
- Better understand and keep track of your care
Sharing access can be helpful if you need extra support managing appointments, understanding health information, or coordinating care with family members or caregivers.
Accessing Your Child's MyChart Account
Parents and legal guardians may request access to their child's MyChart account if:
- The child is under 12 years of age, and the requester is the custodial parent or legal guardian.
- The child is 12 years of age or older and has provided consent. In these cases, both the child and the custodial parent or legal guardian must sign a shared access request form.
How to Set Up Shared Access
Our MyChart Support Team can help you set up shared access.
To get started:
- Complete and sign the appropriate shared access form.
- Email the completed form to
MyChartSupport@thp.ca.
If you are a parent or legal guardian requesting access for a child under 12, please speak with your health care team at your child's next appointment.
