  • Celebrating the Generosity
    of Our Donors

In 2024-25, Trillium Health Partners Foundation had a record-setting year, reaching $56 million in revenue raised – the highest in our history - with an additional $30 million raised in future commitments through the generous support of our donor community. These contributions are helping ensure world-class health care today across all three Trillium Health Partners sites: Mississauga Hospital, Credit Valley Hospital, and Queensway Health Centre, and will help build the future of health care as we get ready to break ground on The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children.

A Community on the Rise

Trillium Health Partners serves a region that is growing faster than any other in Ontario. By 2041, our community is expected to grow by 45 per cent - from 2.2 million to 3.2 million people. Trillium Health Partners already treats the most inpatients, delivers the most babies, and performs the most brain surgeries of any hospital in the province. The demand for care will only continue to grow, particularly among seniors and those in underserved areas.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, Trillium Health Partners is making critical investments in new facilities and technologies that will support world-class care today and in the future.

Donor Support in Action

Your donations make possible:

  • The redevelopment of Mississauga Hospital into The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital, set to become the largest hospital in Canada
  • The creation of Ontario's first women’s and children’s hospital, the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children
  • The major expansion at the future home of The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre, which will be a dedicated centre for complex care and rehabilitation services
  • Investments in the latest technology to improve diagnostics and reduce wait times
  • Innovations at the Institute for Better Health, enabling groundbreaking research and real-world solutions that are shaping a healthier future for our community

Landmark Gifts from Visionary Philanthropists

In May 2024, just ahead of Mother’s Day, the Shah Family Foundation made a gift that will forever transform care for women and children in Mississauga and beyond.

Their extraordinary donation will help create Ontario’s first hospital dedicated entirely to the unique needs of women and children. The new Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, to be built on the site of Mississauga Hospital, will offer specialized, compassionate care close to home.

With an expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, dedicated mental health beds for children and youth (a first for the region), and state-of-the-art birthing and surgical suites, the hospital will provide a full range of services - from reproductive health to paediatric and postpartum care - all under one roof.

Thanks to the Shah Family Foundation’s incredible generosity, the future of care at Trillium Health Partners is brighter than ever.

Another significant contribution this year was a $10 million gift from Mona and Ash Singh. Their donation will support a comprehensive wellness program – the first of its kind - for team members, patients, and the broader community with the goal of igniting a wellness movement within health care that focuses on prevention rather than sick care.

Elisabeth Hofmann is a dedicated and visionary supporter of Trillium Health Partners’ Institute for Better Health and has now doubled her impact for a cumulative $10 million, focusing her philanthropic donations on research on advancing learning health systems. Her support has been instrumental in accelerating the implementation of Learning Health Systems at Trillium Health Partners within the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada.

Celebrating Donors Who Gave $1 Million or More

We are also proud to honour the leadership and generosity of other donors who made gifts of $1 million or more this past year:

  • Sabourin Family Foundation – A second gift supporting both new hospital developments
  • Palleschi Family – Enhancing cardiac care at our existing Mississauga Hospital site
  • Azrieli Foundation's Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence – Funding transformative caregiver support research
  • Hap and Barbara Stephen – Renewing support for the Stephen Family Research Chair in Community Health

We are also pleased to acknowledge the following donors who have both passed the $1 million mark with their cumulative giving to Trillium Health Partners Foundation this past year:

  • Sun Life
  • Trillium Health Partners Professional Staff Association

Investing in World-Class Equipment and Technology

Donor support helped fund key equipment and technology upgrades across sites:

  • A modernized Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Mississauga Hospital used to diagnose and treat cardiac patients
  • Radiant warmers at multiple sites, which provide warmth to newborns
  • A defibrillator cardiac monitor at Credit Valley Hospital, which aids in restoring a normal heartbeat
  • A mammogram system at Credit Valley Hospital, used for early screening
  • Point-of-care ultrasound machines at multiple sites, which are portable and can be administered without moving patients

Each piece of equipment is helping us deliver safer, faster, and more accurate care - because of you.

With utmost gratitude,

We are building not just for today, but for tomorrow. Projects underway include:

  • The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital – future home of Canada's largest hospital
  • Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children – the first of its kind in Ontario
  • A new rehabilitation and complex care tower at The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre
