The Rapid Access Clinic for Low Back Pain (RAC-LBP) is a program offered by the Trillium Health Partners Insight Health Solutions Team to help improve the quality, access, and appropriateness of care for people with low back pain and related conditions. It is designed to decrease the prevalence of unmanageable low back pain, while ensuring the small percentage of those who require diagnostic imaging and specialist referral receive this care on an expedited basis.
The RAC-LBP program is for patients over the age of 18, who have had low back pain and/or related symptoms (e.g. leg pain, numbness and/or tingling) for at least six weeks, but not more than one year. Patients must be referred by their primary care provider, e.g. their family physician or nurse practitioner:
Primary care providers will receive a copy of the assessment and recommendations made. This program does not receive direct referrals from specialists or the Emergency Department.
